Ingredients

  • ½ cup popcorn kernels
  • Chocolate, melted (dark, milk, or semi-sweet all work)
  • Sea salt, to finish

Instructions

  1. Pop the popcorn - Add ½ cup popcorn kernels to a brown paper bag, fold the top over a few times, and microwave using the popcorn setting (or until popping slows).
  2. Transfer to a bowl -  Carefully pour popcorn into a large bowl, removing any unpopped kernels.
  3. Melt chocolate - add about ½ of chocolate into a bowl and melt in the microwave until softened.
  4. Add melted chocolate - Drizzle melted dark chocolate over the popcorn.
  5. Mix - Gently stir until the popcorn is evenly coated.
  6. Spread & set - Spread the popcorn in a single layer on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Let the chocolate harden. Add more chocolate if desired.
  7. Finish & serve - top with some flaky seat salt and place back in a bowl once chocolate is hardened to enjoy!

Tips & Variations

  • Use dark chocolate for a richer flavour
  • Add a sprinkle of cinnamon or cocoa powder
  • Mix in pretzels or nuts for extra crunch
  • Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days

FAQs

Can I use air-popped popcorn?

Yes! Any plain popcorn works just avoid heavily buttered or flavored versions.

How do I melt chocolate without burning it?

Microwave in 20–30 second intervals, stirring between each round. I like to add tablespoon of coconut oil as well!

Is this kid-friendly?

Absolutely great for little helpers to stir and sprinkle.
